About us
Magamba Eco-Cultural Tourism is a community-owned, youth-led enterprise from the Usambara Mountains and the only registered Community-Based Tourism organization in Magamba, officially recognized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism through the Tanzania Tourist Board with a ceritificate. (CTP/No. 0069).
Rooted in the local community, we use tourism as a tool for poverty alleviation, community empowerment, and environmental conservation, creating inclusive income opportunities for youth, women, and elders. We promote sustainable, low-impact tourism within Magamba Forest and the wider Usambara ecosystem, ensuring nature is protected for present and future generations.
Every experience connects visitors with nature, culture, and people, while directly supporting local livelihoods and conservation efforts.
Alfonce Shelukindo
Mr. Alfonce Shelukindo is the Founder and Coordinator of Magamba Eco-Cultural Tourism. He is deeply passionate about supporting local communities through sustainable tourism initiatives that protect the environment while creating meaningful livelihoods. With a strong interest in environmental conservation, wildlife protection, and community empowerment, Alfonce believes that rural development can be achieved by responsibly using natural and cultural resources.
As an animal lover and environmental enthusiast, he is committed to promoting eco-tourism and cultural tourism as tools for conservation and social impact. His vision is to uplift and empower rural communities by linking eco-friendly and cultural experiences to tourism, ensuring long-term benefits for both local people and the natural environment.
